lunch! 2012 exhibitor show highlights: Drinks, Equipment & Packaging

Attendees to this month?s lunch! trade show, on 20-21 September at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, will be treated to a wealth of new food, drink, packaging and equipment innovations ? as 236 top manufacturers and suppliers prepare to exhibit at the food-to-go industry?s biggest dedicated annual event.

Now in its fifth year, lunch! is widely recognised as the ?must attend? event for professional buyers and press representatives looking get the scoop on all the latest out of home food and drink trends and get an exclusive preview of new products being launched on to the UK market.? The following is just a taste of the?speciality drinks, equipment, packaging and business services?on show this year.

The UK?s leading independent coffee roaster?Matthew Algie?will be launching its first single 1kg bags of filter coffee ? along with a host of new Espresso Warehouse products, from muffins and popcorn to a new brew bar and diner mug.? Visitors to stand L4 will also be able to sample a number of new Suki tea products; including the Suki gift set, the first triple certified tea, and two new flavours of retail tea.? During the two-day exhibition, Matthew Algie will also open the doors to their London coffee school, which is permanently based within the Business Design Centre.? Enjoy cupping sessions, filter bar tastings, coffee clinics and much more!

Kokoa Collection?will be launching four new products on stand IZ-36 in lunch!?s Innovation Zone.? These include a new single origin Fairtrade hot chocolate from Peru, a Fairtrade version of its popular white hot chocolate, as well as a flaked version of its 70% from Ecuador to be used as a sprinkle garnish on chocolate and cappuccinos.? Due to popular customer demand, they will also be showcasing its first stock of a 12 fl oz size of its attractive double-walled glasses, with sustainable teak serving trays.

First time exhibitor?Bradley?s Juices?(Innovation Zone, stand IZ-38) will be showcasing its range of fabulous award-winning drinks at lunch! 2012.? Based at Box Bush Farm in rural Somerset, Bradley?s Juices specialise in producing single variety apple juices using traditional English apples.? Recent launches include Bradley?s Quench range of traditional still lemonade, brewed ginger beer, cranberry and apple juice, cherry juice and elderflower press?.

Breckland Orchard?will be?launching an exciting new flavour on stand U213 at lunch!.? New Plum & Cherry joins their seven other delicious varieties of Posh Pop to create a virtual orchard of English-inspired tastes.? All are gently carbonated and available in 275 ml bottles ? perfect for on the go consumption.? In keeping with its ?small is beautiful? ethos, Breckland Orchard drinks are not available in the Top 4 supermarkets (or Waitrose!).

Kidd?s Orange Red is set to join?Maynard House Orchards Apple Juice?s?Great Taste Gold award-winning range ahead of this year?s harvest (Innovation Zone, stand IZ-28).? The Kidd?s Orange Red is a dessert apple, similar in size to a Cox but redder in colour, which produces a sweeter juice with greater complexity and depth of flavour.? The variety was created in 1924 by J.H Kidd in New Zealand, who crossed the Cox?s Orange Pippin with the Red Delicious.? The hybrid was then brought back to the UK in 1931 by Frederick E. Williamson, the grandfather of Clive Williamson who is the current owner.? Maynard House Orchards is an exclusively on-trade product, available in cases of 24 x 240ml bottles.

Distributor?Serbian Natural Food?(Innovation Zone, stand IZ-29) will be unveiling some new additions to the Foodland 100% natural range at this year?s lunch!.? Foodland?s 100% fruit juices made by cold pressing fruit, with no added sugar, are available in 19 new varieties; including cornelian cherry, wild blueberry, raspberry, cranberry, sour cherry, apricot, quince, and pear juice.

MUNE?(Innovation Zone, stand IZ-2) will be introducing its recently launched MUNE HEALTHY WATER (winner of Best New Drink Product at The Natural & Organic Awards in April 2012).? Each 500ml bottle contains two 250ml servings and 50% of the recommended daily allowance of seven vitamins and zinc, keeping consumers healthy and hydrated.? Visit stand 313 to see demonstrations of their coffee machine ranges, which include traditional espresso, twin group capsule systems, and fully automatic bean to cup systems.? With an abundance of health benefits, and great taste, coconut water is fast becoming a popular choice of soft drink across the globe and now the UK is joining the race with?Go Coco 100% natural coconut water.? Bunzl Catering Supplies?(stand U211) will unveil a new product for the out of home food and drink market at this year?s lunch! show.? The new product will form part of the Metro Cup??range of disposable hot cups, which feature exclusive designs for UK operators.? The company will also be launching its new, exclusive Label 2 Go??brand in an effort to end the confusion surrounding complex food legislation.

Dempson Crooke?(stand 239) will?be showcasing its ground-breaking, new DEMPSON BAG??? a handmade carrier bag concept that is perfect for carrying larger food products, such as cake, pizza and sushi? Marketed at caf?s, takeaways, restaurants and retailers, the DEMPSON BAG??benefits from having a fold over seal to prevent tampering, which is ideal for the food market.? Since?Allstat Labels & Labelling?s last successful visit to the lunch! exhibition, the company has invested in a wider web UV Flexo label press, which is capable of very high quality print, up to 8 colours.? This year they will be showing a multitude of label designs on stand U105 ? from a single colour sandwich label (with a half tone) to very high quality drink labels (from clear material).? They recently printed their first QR code, which links to an app for an artisan bakery.

GO IN?UK, one of Europe?s leading hospitality furniture companies, will be showing a number of new fabrics and products at?lunch!?on stand?U203.??For 2012 GO IN has introduced 100 new furniture products and 270 new cover fabrics into their catalogue to help designers create unique and individual interior solutions.? Mixing and matching of colours and materials is encouraged, so now backrests and seat cushions on chairs and sofas no longer need to be the same colour or pattern.

First time exhibitor?Gadsby?will be introducing lunch! visitors to a host of new products on stand 414.? The latest addition to their range is a brand new flat-top wooden display cart for retail display, which has been created to work in combination with their existing range of basketware.? A full new range of polywicker products will also be on show, which offer a dishwasher friendly alternative to natural wicker.

Blue Ice Machines ? Toasty Products?(Innovation Zone, stand IZ-22) produce a wide range of equipment to make frozen yoghurt, soft ice cream, milkshakes, frozen cocktails and slush.? Frozen Yoghurt is a healthy product, low in fat and high in calcium.? On show is the new T10 fitted with the latest innovation in ice cream machine control technology.? Producing 90 cups per hour, the Blue Ice T10 is the newest addition to the Toasty Products range of profitable catering systems.

First time exhibitor?Equip Line?(stand L10) will be introducing its new Pop Up Caf? Pod, a concept that can be up and earning in less than 2 hours.? Other recent launches on show include its Reach-In Day Fridge, an incredibly useful support tool at the service point, and the MerryChef E2.? Equip Line will also be demonstrating its Visualisation service, which includes equipment selection and menu development (driven by the customer?s own menu ideas) ensuring retailers can get their concept live even faster than if they had to do all the testing themselves from scratch.

Testo Limited?offers a wide range of high quality food safety instrumentation for food inspection, catering and processing requirements, to keep food service businesses HACCP compliant.? Exhibiting on stand 524, Testo will be showcasing its Saveris Mobile, a wireless temperature and humidity monitoring system that monitors during transit, making it truly versatile and flexible. The easy-to-use system automatically measures, documents and issues alarms whenever limit values are exceeded.? Testo?s new range of thermal imaging cameras, full range of data loggers, contact and non-contact thermometers, PH meters and the Testo 270 cooking oil tester will also be on display.

The London Linen Group?(stand 323)?now offer a revolutionary new product that is a first for the hospitality industry!? Its EkoChef range of garments includes chefs jackets, chefs trousers and aprons made from recycled plastic bottles and waste polyester fibre.? They are comfortable, perform just as well as standard garments and are totally fit for purpose.? They have many environmental benefits, including 80% less energy used in production.
